Grumman's Space Sector, Strategic Force Programs Division in Azusa
CA, is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 3, Payload Systems
Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT). This role will report
on-site daily to our Azusa, CA campus.Essential Functions:Provide
leadership and direction for the IPT Team in a high tempo work
environment.Serve as the interface to the Program Manager, SEIT
Lead, Chief Engineer, and other IPT leads to coordinate team
technical and programmatic status and issues.Build and maintain a
culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team
accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development,
and supports innovation.Ensure that the team is adhering to sound
engineering processes during development in accordance with program
and company policies, procedures, and quality standards.Responsible
for meeting business goals of engineering cost and schedule for
scope of work as assigned.Develop and execute to project budgets
and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS),
critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and
workload forecasts.Serve as the interface to the Engineering
Discipline/Department Managers to coordinate staffing requirements
and ensure proper skill mix to support team activities.Brief
internal and customer leadership on progress of work
assigned.Development of formal procedures and presentations
(ERB/CCB documentation).Ensure V&V campaign is successfully
executed leading to a timely selloff of the payload.Track and
communicate the team's technical metrics.Lead system, subsystem and
low-level technical reviews.Mentor technical contributors.This
position will be involved with requirements development,
decomposition, verification, measuring system performance,
evaluating algorithms, and recommending possible solutions to
engineering problems and design. The lead will also ensure the
logical and systematic conversion of customer or product
requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge
technical, schedule, and cost constraints, perform functional
analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements
allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer
requirements into hardware and software specifications.This
position requires payload systems technical knowledge and
leadership in EO/IR space payload systems to help establish and
execute effective work processes and procedures and provide
leadership of systems engineers.Technical understanding in OPIR
payload operations, Mission Requirements, Mission Phenomenology &
Simulation is strongly desired.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's
degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and
9+ years of related systems engineering experience5+ years of
leadership experienceExperience in payload design of EO/IR payload
systemsExperience with planning, scheduling, and earned value
management systems (EVMS) to initiate, execute, manage and control
program plans against cost and schedule baselines that meet both
program contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations. This
also includes risk and opportunity management.Active DoD Secret
clearance must be held and maintained, with the ability to obtain &
maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI program access. U.S.
Citizenship is required.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in
a STEM field and 12+ years of systems engineering experience7+
years of leadership experience as technical lead, Integrated
Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other engineering leadership role with
demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal
skills.Knowledge of and experience with the NGG Program.Knowledge
and experience in all phases of the System Development Life
Cycle.MBSE experience and system architecture modeling tool(s)
experience.Active Top Secret or SCI Clearance.Salary Range:
$176,100 USD - $264,100 USDEmployees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
