The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in Electrical Design and Integration (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Azusa, CA. This position will be on a hybrid schedule where most of the work will be done on-site, but we can accommodate partial teleworking upon business/program need.

The successful applicant will perform design and analysis of Electrical Systems required for the Payload Ground Systems division . Responsibilities will include requirements analysis and decomposition, subsystem and circuit design, integration, and verification test. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment is required.

The successful candidate must have the ability to define and review electrical interface designs, perform signal integrity analysis within a unit and between units and coordinate with multi-discipline functional organizations to ensure product reliability and requirements are met. The candidate will also need to have prior experience with the development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), electrical subsystem development, system architecture, hardware and/or software testing of subsystems and components, test plans and test procedures development. The position also requires working knowledge of protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, and SRIO, SERDES and prior experience with circuit simulation and power integrity software tools.

Other responsibilities may include wiring and interconnect diagrams design, signal integrity analysis, power consumption and estimation, and ability to lead technical teams and oversee complex issues, including troubleshooting, to support anomaly resolution during integration and test. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance and/or due to business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field and 14 years or related electronics engineering experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field & 12 years of related electronics engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
  • Prior experience with SPICE or equivalent circuit simulation software Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field and 15+ years or related electronics engineering experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field & 11 years of related electronics engineering experience
    • Prior experience with HyperLynx and Zuken E3
    • Active Secret (or higher) Clearance Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
