  • PTO available after 30 daysPOSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance & Environmental Technician will be responsible to perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs, manage wastewater treatment as well as supporting manufacturing as needed. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a win-first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Perform periodic preventative maintenance tasks and diversified equipment repairs as directed and as required to support the continuous production activities of the divisions manufacturing departments.
    • Maintain logs for each machine included in the preventative maintenance program.
    • Fill-in appropriate notation to indicate the timely completion of each task.
    • Replace any worn parts as required.
    • Make routine adjustments to put the equipment back in operating condition.
    • Notify the shift supervisor of any dangerous, unsatisfactory or inoperative conditions affecting the equipment the shift might be using.
    • Make daily entries into the separate logbook to communicate any information that the other maintenance personnel should be aware of regarding any problems, unfinished repairs, special situations, etc.
    • Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
    • Maintained work area, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
    • Follow established company rules and regulations, and safety precautions and maintain quality standards.
    • Estimate work and inform the Manager in case outside help is needed.
    • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.
    • Perform weekly inspections of Hazardous Waste Areas, Safety Showers and Satellite Waste Locations.
    • Label and maintain all Hazardous Waste in storage areas in conformance with federal, state and local regulations.
    • Maintain inventory levels for all production chemistries.
    • Monitor and maintain all wet air scrubbers.
    • Maintain all Waste Treatment logs as required under the facility's sewer discharge permit.
    • Receive raw materials (chemicals) and ship hazardous waste as required.
    • Assist production in the maintenance of etching equipment and baths as required.
    • Identify any environmental or safety concerns or violations and report them to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.
    • Maintain and organize storage.
    • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
      • 1 to 3 years of applied trades training in a particular or specialized occupation. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
        • High School Diploma or equivalent Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
        • Excellent data entry skills
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
        • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
        • Able to work safely with chemicals while wearing proper personal protective equipment.
        • Able to closely follow written and verbal instructionsPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand. -The employee could frequently be required to walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. -The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. -The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. -Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
