Northrop Grumman in Azusa, CA is seeking a level 2 Satellite
Systems Engineer to support our payload & ground systems team. This
position will be reporting on-site daily. What you will get to
do:Conducts mission and program specific real time spacecraft and
satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and
evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to
provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics,
satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit
satellites. Provides technical direction for on-orbit mission
support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends
alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support.
Conducts failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting
satellites via telemetry data.The successful candidate will be
expected to:
- Provide mission operations support to the SBIRS program.
- Support system maintenance activities such as procedure
updates, architecture upkeep, and formal program milestones.
- Work with systems engineers to conduct anomaly review board
investigations as necessary.
- Support testing using simulators and resolve
discrepancies.
- Support development and test command procedures, telemetry
pages, and other products
- Support operations readiness activities including customer
meetings.
- Support operations, including shift work.
- Monitor vehicle state of health across all subsystems and
perform short and long-term telemetry trending.
- Provide status reporting through both the functional and
program reporting branches.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and manage tasks for the operations
team.
- Support internal and external customer meetings through
proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel)
communications.Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology,
Engineering, Mathematics) & 2 years of related engineering
experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field
- Experience working with MATLAB or Python
- Active & Current DoD Secret security clearance
- Prior experience conducting on-orbit mission operations and
resolving satellite and ground system anomalies.Preferred
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or higher specifically in Aerospace or
Electrical Engineering
- Unix environment experience.
- Experience with engineering tools such as STK. Salary Range:
$74,900 USD - $112,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
