    The Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) in Azusa, CA is seeking an Electrical and Mechanical Design Program Execution Manager Engineering 3 to join our qualified and diverse team. This position will lead a growing statement of work within the Hardware Engineering and have responsibility for establishing, maintaining, and enabling consistency across the organization and programs. This includes ensuring all activities on programs are aligned to the functional objectives and policies and practices are adhered to. The candidate will also support developing organizational strategies implementing across organization. The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. The Electrical and Mechanical Design Program Execution Manager will share responsibilities for engineering oversight of multiple program Design Integrated Product Teams (IPT) consisting of managers, individual contributors, and direct reports. This Manager functionally reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering within the PGSD Strategic Force Programs (SFP) Azusa and programmatically reports to the Program Management Offices as required. For this manager position, the successful applicant will require technical understanding and experience in electrical or mechanical design of systems, subsystems, and components supporting IR and/or MMW space programs, subassembly development, design, and experience with space-borne hardware design and producebility. This includes the development of electrical and mechanical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between the various subsystems. This successful candidate will lead and support programs in efforts relative to hardware requirements to conduct successful Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR) milestones. Candidate will interface with multiple disciplines such as program management, electrical, mechanical and system engineering. A good understanding of space electronic hardware design life-cycle is required. Technical responsibilities include direct support to program IPT lead to ensure technical performance requirements are met and are consistent with the derived subsystem requirements to ensure compatibility and interoperability between all subsystem elements over environmental conditions and life. Other responsibilities may include leading analysis products to ensure subsystem-to-subsystem interface compatibility and environmental test verification products and design processes are properly adhered too. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance and/or due to business needs The candidate must be able to demonstrate success in applying leadership characteristics to achieve sustainable top performance, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. In addition, they should have the ability to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching. The successful candidate must also possess the ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and rewarding innovative behaviors through all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will need to be solution focused, methodically organized, independently directed, and able to perform effectively with concurrent tasking. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, especially at an executive level, and the successful candidate must have demonstrated strong abilities to collaborate, influence, and lead. As a key leader, the role will require developed technical trouble-shooting and root cause analysis skills with successful performance in bringing broader cross-discipline systems thinking to problem solving. - Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field & 7+ years of technical experience related to space product development
    • 5+ years of leadership experience in a technical setting
    • 1+ years of experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
    • Must have prior functional leadership experience
    • Must have a current & active U.S. Government DoD clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or SCI clearance)
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • M.S. degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or related STEM technical discipline from an ABET accredited university & 10+ years of related experience
      • An active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years required
      • Leading design, integration and production efforts within schedule, labor, and material cost requirements -
      • Prior functional leadership experience
      • Prior experience as customer interfacing spokesperson
      • Prior experience preparing technical and cost volumes for proposal
      • Prior technical subcontracts management experience
      • Prior experience spearheading initiatives to increase operational efficiency Salary Range: 150920 - 226380 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
