DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Clinical Support Supervisor (SCS) provides support within the Donor Care Units (DCUs). This support is focused on maximizing donation and includes . donor throughput and surgery scheduling, environmental safety within the DCUs, equipment maintenance (including point of care testing of instruments), vendor sourcing, capital equipment and supplies purchasing, requisitioning and stocking of standard inventory items, and direct supervision of designated support staff.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions





  • Coordinate donor throughput:

  • Facilitate, process, and document the transportation of donors from donor hospitals to the DCU
  • Maintain the donor procedure schedule, including: Surgical, cath lab, CT, X-ray, bronchoscopy, echo and/or other diagnostic imaging.


  • DCU equipment maintenance:

  • Ensure physical environment, equipment, and supplies are appropriate and available for the delivery of donor care
  • Adhere to Equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) process
  • Point of care testing instrument quality controls (Glucometer, istat, etc.)


  • Clinical supplies:

  • In collaboration with Central Supply, facilitate the purchase of supplies within established inventory levels and utilization to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure daily stocking to maintain pre-established supply PAR levels
  • Collaborate with Central Supply for vendor and product evaluation and availability.


  • Recruit, retain, and supervise support staff to ensure that quality clerical and technical services are provided in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Potential Risk Factors:
    1. Risk Exposure to Blood/Body Fluids:
    While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be exposed to blood or body fluids. Established procedures identify the appropriate personal protective measures that you should use when performing essential functions of your position. The OneLegacy OSHA program will provide you with the appropriate procedures and guidelines in which you should perform the essential duties of your job.     2. Repetitive Motion:
    While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be required to perform some functions repeatedly. When such tasks are not performed properly, injury can result. Established procedures identify the precautions and/or equipment that should be used.
    3. Minimum Weight Lifting Requirement (50 lbs.):
    While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be required to do some lifting, moving, pushing, or pulling. When such tasks are not performed properly, injury can result. Established procedures identify the precautions and/or equipment that should be used when performing this task.     4. Prolonged Sitting, Standing, and Bending:
    While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be required to sit, stand, or bend for an extended period of time. When such tasks are not performed properly, injury can result. Established procedures identify the precautions and/or equipment that should be used when performing this task.
    5. Competency Evaluation:
    Competency evaluations are required for this position. Your supervisor will notify you when your evaluation is to be conducted.
    6. In-Service Training:


    You may need additional training to better understand the performance requirements of your essential job functions. In-service training classes will be scheduled and your attendance at such classes is mandatory.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Must be a highly organized and resourceful person with excellent written and verbal communications skills who demonstrates tact, maturity, and professionalism in all points of contact.
  • Must have the ability to solve problems independently, and work with others in a congenial and collaborative manner
  • Must exhibit ability to assess the daily needs of the donation process and be highly skilled in multitasking and dealing with a constantly changing work environment that requires flexibility.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, which allow for effectively dealing with individuals and/or groups of individuals.
  • Displays good judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of all aspects of organ and tissue donation, and transplantation process including donation, procurement and preservation techniques.
  • Ability to use computer (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) as well as other software, including digitalDONOR
  • Knowledgeable of UNOS, CMS, AOPO standards, policies, and guidelines.

    Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
    Location:
    Corporate office, and work areas throughout OneLegacy's Donor Service Area (DSA)
    Travel:
    Occasionally required to travel both in and out of state by personal auto, rental car, or air in order to meet the duties and responsibilities of the position.
    Work Hours:
    Exempt employees shall be paid an established salary on a bi-weekly basis and are expected to fulfill the duties of their position regardless of hours worked. The workweek for full-time exempt employees is normally considered to be 40 hours; however, greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to the position than on working a specified number of hours. Exempt employees are not eligible to receive overtime compensation. Must be available evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.

    Job Qualifications:
    Education:
    Bachelor's degree is required with preferred course work in behavioral sciences, social sciences or other health related fields. Master's degree preferred.
    Experience:
    The minimum requirements for this position include but not limited to the following:

  • 4+ years of critical care experience.
  • 3+ years of prior management experience managing a diverse group of professionals, with at least three (3) years in a health-related field required.


    Certification/License: Reliable automotive transportation is required. OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver's license and current vehicle insurance. Please refer to OneLegacy's Policy HR108 - Licensure and Certification for insurance coverage requirements.

    Equipment: Must be able to use office equipment, including personal computer, fax machine, calculator, photocopier/scanner, cell phone and audio/visual equipment. Reliable automotive transportation is required.
