System engineer will support mission operations for on-orbit DSP payloads. Candidate will conduct mission and program specific real time spacecraft and satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on-orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Conducts failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Interest in Telemetry Tracking & Commanding of space hardware is required, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.The successful candidate will be expected to:Provide mission operations support to the DOMES program.Support system maintenance activities such as procedure updates, architecture upkeep, and formal program milestones.Work with systems engineers to conduct anomaly review board investigations as necessary.Conduct testing using simulators and resolve discrepancies.Develop and test command procedures, telemetry pages, and other productsSupport operations readiness activities including customer meetings.Support operations, including shift work.Monitor vehicle state of health across all subsystems and perform short and long-term telemetry trending.Track space vehicle configuration, to include both hardware, software, and configurable item parametersMake modifications to existing operations procedures to incorporate lessons learned from in-flight performanceDevelop new procedures as required.Provide status reporting through both the functional and program reporting branches.Provide mentoring, guidance and manage tasks for the operations team.Support internal and external customer meetings through proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel) communications.Basic Qualifications: (Level 2)Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) & 2 years of related engineering experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM fieldExperience working with MATLABActive & Current DoD Secret security clearanceAbility to work within, task, and manage a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success.Prior experience conducting on-orbit mission operations and resolving satellite and ground system anomalies.Experience writing technical documents for external customers - Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including ability to make persuasive presentations to external customers at milestone reviewsBasic Qualifications: (Level 3)Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) & 5 years of related engineering experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field & 3 years of related engineering experienceExperience working with MATLABActive & Current DoD Secret security clearanceAbility to work within, task, and manage a group of diversified individuals with varying backgrounds to achieve mission success.Prior experience conducting on-orbit mission operations and resolving satellite and ground system anomalies.Experience writing technical documents for external customers - Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including ability to make persuasive presentations to external customers at milestone reviewsPreferred Qualifications:Master's Degree or higher specifically in Aerospace or Electrical EngineeringUnix environment experience and working knowledge with C/C++Experience with engineering tools such as PSpice and STK.Salary Range: 82400 - 123600Salary Range 2: 101400 - 152200Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
