Job Description:
The Materials Manager will be responsible for planning,
procuring, and managing the flow of raw materials, packaging, and
supplies to ensure efficient production operations. This individual
will lead inventory control efforts, manage vendor relationships,
and coordinate closely with procurement, production, and warehouse
teams. Client Details My client a growing food manufacturing
company located in LA County, dedicated to delivering high-quality,
innovative products to our customers. As we continue to expand,
we're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Manager to
oversee and streamline the flow of materials across our facility
and supply chain. Description Materials Manager Responsibilities:
Oversee all material planning activities to ensure availability of
raw materials and packaging for production schedules. Monitor
inventory levels and coordinate just-in-time deliveries to minimize
carrying costs and avoid shortages. Manage the procurement of raw
materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies from approved
suppliers. Work closely with production and warehouse teams to
align material availability with production needs. Identify and
implement improvements in inventory accuracy, storage efficiency,
and material handling processes. Develop and maintain strong
supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and lead
times. Track and report key metrics including inventory turns,
material usage variances, and supplier performance. Ensure
compliance with food safety and quality standards (e.g., SQF, FDA,
USDA). Lead and mentor materials and inventory staff to ensure team
efficiency and growth. Profile Materials Manager Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or
inventory control, ideally within the food or CPG manufacturing
industry. Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite,
SAP, or similar). Experience managing inventory in a GMP-compliant,
fast-paced environment. Proven ability to forecast material needs
and mitigate supply disruptions. Excellent communication,
organization, and leadership skills. Bachelor's degree in Supply
Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred. Not for
