Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector in Azusa, CA is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer (Level 5) to join our team. This role will be reporting on-site to our Azusa, CA campus daily.

As a selected candidate you can support the design, development, documentation, testing, integration, and debugging of software written in various computer languages. You can ensure software standards are met. Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field with 14 years of related software engineering experience OR a master's degree in a STEM field with 12 years of related software engineering experience for Staff (Level 5)
  • Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or Ada
  • Demonstrated experience with embedded software development and the ability to rapidly learn new space systems flight software
  • Active and current DoD Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience developing low level software with respect to memory and timing management in C or an assembly derivative
    • Experience developing software in Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) for embedded applications
    • Experience utilizing hardware in the loop testing environments
    • Experience developing software with scripting languages
    • Experience with UNIX operating systems
    • Familiarity with protocols such as 1553
    • Experience with unit testing (tools, frameworks, automation)
    • Experience with requirements development, software design and architectureThere is no expectation that you will know everything we have listed.       Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
