The Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) Division in Azusa, CA is seeking a Digital Engineering Manager 1 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.This position will lead a growing statement of work within the Hardware Engineering and have responsibility for establishing, maintaining, and enabling consistency across the organization and programs.This includes ensuring all activities on programs are aligned to the functional objectives and policies and practice.The candidate will also support developing organizational strategies implementing across organization. This role will report on-site to our Azusa campus. We can accommodate occasional teleworking but fully dependent on program/business need. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of the digital engineering group of -5-8 employees, focusing on digital design architecture, development, verification, and/or implementation. The selected candidate will be responsible for deployment of resources to programs, ensuring adherence to department processes, , mentoring, performance evaluation, coordinating activities, staffing, and career development of department members.In this role, this person is responsible for the overall technical performance of the Digital Architecture organization.The position requires approximately 80% direct space program support and 20% for functional management. The successful applicant will require a technical understanding and experience in all aspects of a digital design life cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, digital design, architectures, establishing requirements, verification, simulation, debugging, hardware implementation, and more.The candidate should have leadership experience in a team environment, budget management is a plus.Candidate will interface with multiple disciplines such as program management, electrical, mechanical and system engineering, procurement, supply base/subcontractors, integration & test, and manufacturing.The candidate must be capable of flowing down and/or deriving requirements from higher-level specifications, participating in trade studies, and contributing to the generating of process documents.Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs. Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, C omputer Engineering , or other S.T.E.M. discipline & 3+ years of related engineering experience
    • Experience developing and delivering hardware subsystems/equipment, or conduct of one or more digital engineering disciplines (see above) in support of such delivery
    • 2 years of leadership experience (team, project, program, people)
    • Proficiency with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship Required) Preferred Qualifications
      • Proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills
      • Prior experience in engineering functional management
      • Demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
      • Demonstrate strong team-building/collaboration skills
      • Demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
      • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
      • Previous experience leading a team of 3-8 employees with a record of on-time performance
      • Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate)
      • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities
      • Experience with multi-gigabit SERDES communication
      • Experience implementing image processing algorithms in FPGAs
      • Experience with design, analysis, and architecture of digital signal processing electronics systems
      • Current & active Clearance: Secret, Top Secret, SCI/SSBI. Salary Range: $119,600 USD - $179,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
