Northrop Grumman's Space Sector/Payloads & Ground Systems/Strategic Force Programs Business Unit in Azusa CA, is seeking a qualified Functional Manager 2 to join the System Products department within Systems Engineering, Integration & Test. This role will report on-site daily, and we can accommodate partial telework, but this is dependent upon business/program demand. This functional manager 2 will get an opportunity to provide a combination of people management and technical support to multiple efforts supporting development and on-orbit support of sensor payloads, including monitoring, trending, and analysis of state of health and mission performance/capabilities. This is a hybrid position combining 20% functional organizational management of 12-15 systems engineers and 80% direct program support. Previous experience with space mission payload operations and data analysis is strongly preferred. Strong people leadership skills are also required, including the ability to identify and develop staff capabilities, support career development, cultivate knowledge transfer and mentoring, manage staff performance, identify and recognize achievement, and plan staffing support for programs. The candidate would also be responsible for ensuring process compliance, reviewing business needs, and supporting department initiatives. Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 5 or more years of experience in Space and/or Defense industry product development 3 years or more of technical or organizational team leadership Current & active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SSBI Preferred Qualifications: Active Top Secret/SSBI clearance Master's degree in a STEM field or Systems Engineering Certification5 years of leadership experienceDevelopment or support experience with satellite ground systems or analysis for the current constellation with SBIRS, DSP, JTAGS, SAGE, or other related programsExperience with Systems Engineering tools, modeling, digital workflows, and Lean-Agile SE execution Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
