Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) Division in Azusa, CA is seeking a
Digital Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified and
diverse individuals. This position will lead a growing statement of
work within the Hardware Engineering and have responsibility for
establishing, maintaining, and enabling consistency across the
organization and programs. This includes ensuring all activities on
programs are aligned to the functional objectives and policies and
practice. The candidate will also support developing organizational
strategies implementing across organization. This role will report
on-site to our Azusa campus daily. We can accommodate occasional
teleworking but fully dependent on program/business need. The
candidate will be responsible for functional management of the
digital engineering group of - 15 employees, focusing on digital
design, development, verification, and implementation. The selected
candidate will be responsible for deployment of resources to
programs, maintaining department processes, customer interfaces,
mentoring, performance evaluation, coordinating activities,
staffing, and career development of department members. In this
role, this person is responsible for the overall technical
performance of the Digital Engineering organization. The position
requires approximately 80% direct space program support and 20% for
functional management. The successful applicant will require a
technical understanding and experience in with all aspects of a
digital design life cycle. This includes, but is not limited to,
digital design, architectures, establishing requirements,
verification, simulation, debugging, hardware implementation, and
more. The candidate should have project management experience in a
team environment, including budget management. Candidate will
interface with multiple disciplines such as program management,
electrical, mechanical and system engineering, procurement, supply
base/subcontractors, integration & test, and manufacturing. The
candidate must be capable of flowing down and/or deriving
requirements from higher-level specifications, performing trade
studies, and generating process documents. Additional
responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or
due to business needs. Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates
digital electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for
digital electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Determines
design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish
operating data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results.
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of
specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability
