In this job, you'll play a key role in helping SCE deliver successful Energy Efficiency and Demand Response technology projects and incentive programs to our utility Residential & Commercial/ Industrial customers. Your skills will help us evaluate newly new technologies and to assist us in upgrading and operating our ground breaking technology applied research laboratory. Your contributions will help us to reduce our customer's energy costs, and to meet SCE's long-term Clean Power Pathway goals for reducing Green-House Gas emissions and moving into a low-carbon future!   • Responsible for supporting emerging technology projects by acting as a Project Engineer for Energy Efficiency, Demand Response and Building Electrification programs.


  • Evaluate project proposals; provide contract management support & quality control.


  • Lead project /study budgets, schedules and deliverables.


  • Analyze project findings for strategic alignment with program goals and make recommendations for future technology adoptions.


  • You will support our Programs by providing technical reviews and quality control of customer applications for the various SCE incentive programs.


  • Review applications for compliance with program rules & eligibility


  • Analyze applications to confirm projected energy savings and demand reductions.


  • Provide recommendations and support to our program staffs for any corrective actions and technical mentorship needed with contractors.


  • Recommend new process improvements and improved procedures and checklist to provide higher quality projects for our customers and contractors.


  • Responsible for supporting the renovation and operations and maintenance of our SCE Technology Test Center Laboratory in Irwindale California, where we assess many types of new energy-related technologies for our customer's homes and businesses.


  • Help design and install new testing apparatus as needed to evaluate innovative technologies.


  • Provide technical guidance to laboratory test technicians, analyze testing results and write final test reports documenting these lab assessments and future potential for the technology.


    Qualifications
    The essentials


    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or in a scientific/technical/math field.


    • Possesses five (5) to seven (7) years of related engineering experience


    • Understands and has experience with energy related regulations, standards, codes, methods and sophisticated engineering principles.


    • Experience in working with multi-functional teams, and demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills


      The preferred


      • Professional Engineer's (PE) License


      • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential


      • LEED Accredited Professional


      • Experience working in a test laboratory or on technical testing / assessment projects


      • Experience in working with multi-functional teams, and demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills


      • Experience with utility Energy Efficiency or Demand Response programs


      • Experience with the technical processes, standards and programs of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).


        You should know


        • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

        • The primary work location is (Irwindale, CA). However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work occasionally at customer's facility in Southern California.


        • Position will require up to 5% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.


        • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email.
