Job Description Job Description Concrete Tilt-Up and/or Self-Storage Experience Required Who We Are HBI Commercial Construction is a multi-state general contractor specializing in concrete tilt-up industrial and self-storage developments. For over 45 years, we’ve partnered with repeat developers and institutional investors to deliver high-quality, schedule-driven projects across California and the Southwest. We are not a generalist GC. We focus on: Multi-story self-storage Ground-up concrete tilt-up industrial Large slab-on-grade pours Fast-track construction for experienced developers If you understand these project types and enjoy the preconstruction side of building them, we want to talk. The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Estimator with direct experience pricing concrete tilt-up and/or self-storage projects. This is not a quantity takeoff role. This is a leadership position responsible for: Leading full conceptual and hard-bid estimates ($10M–$50M) Managing subcontractor outreach and bid leveling Performing detailed concrete, structural, and building envelope takeoffs Both hard bidding projects and negotiated budgets Identifying risk gaps, scope exposures, and VE opportunities Working directly with ownership during preconstruction Supporting buyout and handoff to operations You will work directly with company leadership and senior project managers. What We’re Looking For Required Experience 7 years estimating for a commercial general contractor Direct experience pricing concrete tilt-up and/or self-storage projects Strong understanding of: Structural concrete Slab-on-grade design Steel packages Sitework and utilities Building envelope systems Proven ability to build budgets from conceptual drawings Technical Skills On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, or similar Strong Excel proficiency Experience preparing bids and negotiated budgets Ability to analyze subcontractor scopes and level bids accurately Professional Traits Detail-oriented and disciplined Strong subcontractor relationships Confident communicator with developers and internal team Proactive and solutions-driven Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) Medical / Dental insurance 401(k) Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time Why HBI?
